Alright, I just built a new computer complete with an Asus P4P800-E mobo, so the card I get has to be AGP. I figure I'll probably buy one last AGP card to last me until I buy a new pci-e, which probably won't be for a long time so I'm trying to figure out which of these cards is the best buy.

AiW X800XT($279) - I think I'll probably go with this one, but I probably won't use all of the features that come with it.

Asus X800PRO ViVo ($238) - I don't know if this would be nearly as powerful as the others, but it's an option.

X850PRO ($289) - I don't know if this is any better than the X800XT.

I've spent a lot of time looking around for comparisons, and I've found a few, but none actually help me decide which one I should buy, so any help would be appreciated.

X800GTO > mod > X800GTO 16pipeline > oc 580/600 stock : ) X850XT PE

X850pro > mod > X850XT PE 615/630 easy !

Not every card can be modded just need to get the right brand/model

You don't sacrifice any of the power of the X800XT by getting the AiW model though, do you? I'll probably end up going with the AiW, but I want to buy a cooler to go with it. What you you guys use? I found the Arctic Cooling one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835186129 but one of the reviews says it doesn't fit the AiW model.

Hmm... also, should I wait to get an X1600 when one comes out? I haven't read up on the new series yet, but would the X1600 be as powerful as the X800XT AiW? From what I've read the pricing seems to be in the same range.

i have the AIW and it does overclock great. i was able to take the memory to 1100 with the stock cooling but did not push it any further. it has 1.6ns saamsung memory on it which if you ask the more knowledgeable people here will say this is a very good overclocking memory. so i would highly recommend it

I also have an AIW and they are awesome cards. It is great for gaming and records my satellite tv shows perfectly :D
It is still faster than a normal X800XT from what I have seen.

Uhmmm...are you sure that works in AGP?

AFAIK it was only two very specific cards that could do that, the PCI-E versions of the Sapphire x800 GTO2 and the Connect3d x800 GTO -- both in PCI-E only and only those two specific brands and models of card.

However, I have read about certain AGP x800 Pro's with VIVO that could be unlocked, but don't really know enough to comment any further.

Yeah, the AGP version of the X800GTO doesn't do that. So would the AiW X800XT need a fan? I probably won't be doing any serious overclocking on it, but I don't know how hot it runs stock.

you should get a decend 150-200 video card and spend about 100 for a tv tuner. the aiw stuff isn't as good as it is made out to be. (i never tried it myself...)
