AGP 8x vid cards

hi, people, i need some help on this one.

i just got myself an asus a7n8x mobo with agp 8x. i also need a video card support agp 8x, any suggestion which card i should get. i know the radeon 9700 pro supports 8x but what about the gforce line?

Nvidia cards with the AGP 8x support aren't as numerous as the ati cards because that was the only real change with nv28 and many card makers didn't feel it was worth the time
they have a few GF4 MX cards with agp 8x but they aren't worth yur money
If you look real hard you'll find a few GF4 ti4200 cards with agp 8x (fastest agp 8x card right now with an nvidia chip)
supposedly the TI4600 will have agp 8x and be named TI4800 soon

the radeon 9700 is the highest performing card by a good margin atm and has agp 8x
also the 9500 pro is now shipping which would be cheaper

guess it depends on how much you got to spend and if you have a reason not to buy ati
also note that agp 8x isn't a real big deal atm as far as increasing performance in anything

radeon 9700 pro is out of my range, i am thinking about 9500 pro. but that raise the question, how stable are radeon cards on motherboards with nvidia chipset? anyone have trouble?

the strange thing is, nforce2 mobos all have agp 8x while nvidia doesn't have any cards with ago 8x support yet(kinda like going into battle without ammos), what is nvidia thinking? don't tell me those gf4 mx can keep us happy, i didn't buy the latest agp just for some crappy yesterday vid cards(i know, i know, agp 8x is overhyped).

AGP 8X cards from Nvidia are starting to show up now. They are just the regular GF4 line with AGP 8X tacked on, except for the GF4 MX line which got a little speed boost as well as AGP 8X. There is the Ti4200-8x and soon the Ti4600-8x will be out. It was going to be called the Ti4800 and still will be overseas but in North America at least it will be called by the less misleading Ti4600-8x. I believe there will be a Ti4400-8x as well, and overseas it will be called the Ti4800SE, not sure what it will be called here in North America.
