AGP 8X to T socket board

im new here 🙂

I have Geforce 5600 ultra. Id like to upgrade my computer but not the VGA card yet. Is it possible to put my 5600 ultra to my new motherboard with PCI express? (i'd like to buy ABIT AA8 Duramax --> PCI express).

No. You will need a motherboard with AGP.

There are some boards with PCI express that have an AGP slot, although it does't have the full bandwidth of a true AGP port, such as this one.

I was under the impression those shared the "AGP bus" with the PCI bus, which would make it perform awfully?
