Nowhere I look can I find a pair of benchmarks close enough to apples-to-apples that I can figure what one is better , and by how much.
No choice but to get one this week, kinda dontated my 256 mb 5700le to a brother who had one die..
Ideas?

I would always choose the card with the higher memory bandwith.

The only reason to possibly choose a card with higher core clockspeed over more memory bandwidth is if you absolutely need to play newest games and since you can't afford a good enough card you play at low resolutions and low quality.

For somebody like me who liked to play old games at high resolutions and quality memory bandwith is the first criterium, always. More pixel pipelines won't hurt, though.

The 6800 is generally faster even Oced. If you are into OC at all with the 6800 you can potentially get it pretty close to a 6800GT by unlocking the extra pipes and vertex shader with the program RiveraTuner.
