AGP 6600GT Memory

wanna

Junior Member
Id like to know which brand 6600GT's have what memory.

Im looking for a AGP 6600GT with 1.6ns ram.

Any information would be helpful. Thanks.

ASUS has a 6600GT AGP that uses 1.6ns mem chips, however, I haven't seen it out on the market here in the USA. Its on their website www.asus.com, then go to global, and check it out.

Im from australia, is there any way you can look at the ram or the color of the board?

I heard the xfx's come with 1.6, the ones with the blue board.

I think manufacturers are free to use any ram as long as it is 2ns or better.

I have heard of XFX 6600GT's having 2 and 1.6ns memory.

what the?! I SAID ANTI BUMP!!! NO ONE SHOULD'VE SEEN THIS!!! jkjkjk. Looks like my "anti bump" actually helped you. As for the XFX 6600GT AGP having 1.6 ns memory, I think the old versions of the XFX (has the bulldog heatsink) has the 1.6 ns memory chips. As for the new product line, the XFX has a silver heatsink and 2.0 ns memory.

Right..

I've seen pictures of both for the XFX, and I've heard other users speak about their 6600gt's by other manufacturers having either 1.6ns or 2ns ram on them.

Since my own experience is only with the "silver heatsink/fan" XFX Geforce 6600GT I can tell you I have the 2ns ram.

My ram is currently running at the overclocked speed of at least 1140mhz though.

(I re-ran the "detect optimal settings" in coolbits.reg last night. I don't recall the exact numbers, but it was higher actually.... I ran through some 3dMark benchmarks and it was stable...)
