Hello !!!

I have a Mb Asus TUSL2-C, but i cant make use of agp 4x with my msi Geforce 4 ti4200

I activaved the 4x in the bios, but the utilities i use to check, say that my MB doesnt support agp 4X and fast Writes

I use a Coppermine p3 cpu 1000mhz, a SB live 5.1, ibm gxp 40 gb, pinacle pctv, 2 d-link nic, ide zip drive

i use the latest bios for my MB - 1012

Anyone knows What can be done ?

Are you overclocked? The CU/TUSL2-C boards have this problem where they lower down your bios settings once you get past 140FSB I believe. There's a modded bios you can download where it will keep all your BIOS settings.. AGP 4X and memory timings... intact even ef you go past the speed.

So that would make it 148FSB? Ummm yah that might be the problem... you can find more information at asusboards.com (cusl2c.com) ... just do a search for tweaked bios in the bios forum and there are hundreds of people like you... :) you can get the tweaked bios here... x86-secret.com/...the site is in French but just consult the forums for which one you should get. Please keep in mind that I have never tried them although a lot of them already have... so if anything goes wrong don't sue me... i just never tried it because frankly i'm happy at my speed and i'm stuck just below 140FSB anyway... so i never thought i'd need it. Bacillus is right though... the performance difference between AGP 2X and 4X is negligible... the only advantage I would think of having the tweaked bios is it will allow you to keep more aggressive memory timings beyond 140FSB... and it unlocks some options not found in the original Asus bios. Hope this helps... :)

I found the site !!

Thanks !!!

I´ve upgraded the bios, and the system now have access to 4x agp !!!

I did not have the time to benchmark, but ill do it later !!!!!

Is it true that the i815 chipset doesnt support agp fast writes ???

I heard something about it !!!!
