AGP 4X Vid card

I just refurbished my old gateway. Put a old 815 intel board in, a 1Ghz processor, and 512 of ram (most it will support for some reason?). I am looking for a somewhat decent vid card, AGP 4X to play basic games on (BF1942, COD, etc.) for less than a $100. Currently running a GeForce2 GTS 32mb. Any suggestions?

geforce2 gts is very slow. i have a geforce2 ultra(about as fast as geforce4 mx440, and it barely runs cod 10x7 and bf1942 12x10 medium at really acceptable framerates.) get a geforce4 ti or geforce 3 ti they cost way under $100 and will be fast enough so that yuor cpu is the limiting factor.

(techincally, the geforce2 ultra will be cpu limited until 1.1ghz in Quake3, but DX8 support>DX7 support)

I agree. Get a used Radeon 9700 Pro and the difference in IQ and frame rates over your ancient GeForce2-Ultra will blow your socks off! DirectX 9.0 games here you come!🙂
