AGP 4x Question

I'm curious if someone can point me to some benchmarks of current gen (x800/6800 +) AGP cards running in an AGP 4x capable motherboard. Either that or if someone has had this situation come up, what were the performance losses (if any) from AGP 8x to AGP 4x using the AGP versions of these cards...

Thanks.

Well, those AGP cards are 4X/8X AGP cards, so they will be fine.

The performance difference between 4X and 8X is hidden among the statistical noise. 😀

It would be good to see an actual test of the high end cards with Doom3 wide open to see if we could finally see a difference.

When 8X cards first came out, they usually had slightly faster core and mem clocks to foster the belief that 8X cards were faster. Well, they were faster, but it had nothing to do with 8X AGP.

The same thing is happening now with some PCI-E cards. Similar PCI-E and AGP cards would have the same performance except that the PCI-E cards tend to be clocked higher.
