Guys, I just got my FIRST non-Intel chipset motherboard (Asus P3V4X) and I am going to do a clean install of Win 2K. Do I need to install the VIA 4-in-1 Driver version 4.23 or just the AGP driver 4.03?

Anything else I need to know before I do the swap?

Just let the VIA 4-in-1 driver make all the decisions for you. It detects which OS you use and installs what you need. The new 4.23 package inclues AGP 4.03 driver.

I believe everything went OK, and I installed the latest 4-in-1's. I just used WCPUid 2.7e-b2 to check my AGP and it says:

supported 1x, 2x
current 2x

In BIOS I set it to 4x w/ fast writes and I am using a Gladiac w/ Win2K 5.30 drivers. Am I missing something?

Did you the AGP driver install with the turbo option?

I saw no turbo option for the AGP when loading the 4.23's...??

I am in Win2K

When you first click the setup you have 2 checkboxes that are selected by default (agp.vxd and some .inf file) and click next. Then you have a choice to install the AGP 4x/133 driver or Uninstall it and then click next. It installs the files and makes you reboot.

Rza, I have 512MB Infineon PC100 so that is not a problem. Are you saying that you have AGP 4x enabled and working properly?

I still can't figure out why I do not have AGP 4x though. My P3V4X came with the 1005 bios as well.

Are you using an NVIDIA video card? If so, NVIDIA has disabled the 4x option for VIA chipsets (to unstable). You can get 4x AGP out of the 3.xx reference drivers I believe. There is a method for enabling 4x through the registry.
