AGP 3850 - Does brand matter?

Good morning,

Should I care what AGP 3850 brand I get? The Hightech is $25 more than the Sapphire and I wasn't sure it was worth the price difference.

With an OC'd Opty 170, 2.4GHz, 2GB of RAM, I'm confident my system can fill the 3850 needs.

Gameplay includes Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress 2, Civ4, and perhaps Oblivion.

the Sapphire had the better reviews at Newegg, last time I looked.

some of the reviews had gripes about drivers for specific video games-
Call of Duty.

i have the Sapphire 3870 PCI-E. works good !

The only issue with Sapphire is they charge a fee for RMA service even for defective cards. Which I discovered last year when an x1900gt died on me. Fortunately it was three weeks before newegg's 1 year standard protection ran out and they covered it instead.

SAPPHIRE 100225L Radeon HD 3870 512MB 256-bit GDDR4 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported

$89.99 after $10 rebate. Will give an 8800GT/9800GT a run for the money.

The 3850 isn't much cheaper than the 3870. The 3870 is a considerably faster card and overclocks better as well (due to DDR4).

K31 Swiss out....

I didn't know there was any 3870 which use AGP only the 3850?
