AGP 2x card in a 8x slot??

I'm in the process of putting together some old parts for a linux machine, and have an oooold AGP 2x card.. (ATI Rage PRO something or other)

Anyways, I went to put the card into the agp slot.. and doh! The pins don't line up.

Is the AGP 8x slot not compatible with the older agp 2x cards? I wasn't aware of this... or maybe I just forgot. Hrmm...

Nope, not compatible. I ran into the same issue years ago when I had a G200 Marvel that I wanted to continue using

Damnit. I just put my old PCI voodoo in my ex-gf's computer after my x850 pro decided to catch fire...

Now I want it back. haha

That's because the 4X/8X slots are 1.5V and your 2X card is 3.0 volt. Won't work.
