AGOIA 1500+???

I've just never seen/heard mention of any of these, and the one I just got in the mail has the markings:

AX1500DMT3C
AGOIA 0226APDW
91843880190
*trademark, registered mark, blah blah blah* 1999 AMD

So how successful an overclocker might this chip be as compared the AGOIA 1600+?? Just curious, cause its goin in my box o' fans tonite 🙂

Welp......I got it this afternoon, it was unlocked via super glue and rear window defogger within a few hours after that, and now its in my mobo 🙂 I guess I'll just have to see if it likes 166fsb 🙂

9x166fsb = smooth as a babies bottom 🙂 CPU temp went up 2C, and other than that, the only change is that my PC is faster 😉

I dont know if its already there or not, but I think I'll try the 4:5 ratio on the memory and run myself a little 400DDR ram 🙂 I know its running @ 333mhz now, so I'm assuming its either on auto, or 1:1.

So with few changes, no heat problems or otherwise, I'm almost up to 1800+ speeds on my 1500+ 🙂

And this is with just 3 12db Papst fans 2 in the case, and one on the HS.

2 days later, still running @ 166fsb like a champ, just got my H1A panaflo fan, so thats goin on, and depending on what it does to temps at the current speed, I may just have to run this beeeotch faster 🙂

A week 26, 2002 XP? It should overclock nicely.

But I think a AGOIA Athlon 1500+ should fare better because you can crank it up to higher FSB speeds. And we all know that the Athlon is pretty much memory bandwidth limited at high clock speeds. Be interesting if you try 200FSB. I wonder if they have a 1/3 AGP multiplier.

only mobo i know w/ the 1/6pci divider is the IWill Magik1 board.. but then it's an Ali chipset.. so even when cranked to 200... it's still fares barely as well as a KT @ 166fsb

It loves 166fsb apparently, but thats it, wont even post at 167, even if i turn the multi down .5. Oh well, just got it booted at XP 2000+ speeds for the first time 🙂 Temps are lookin good, now time to see if this sucker will stay running this fast, or if its just gonna lock up on me. Currently 10x166fsb = XP 2000+ 😀 Not a bad little 1500 I got here.
