Agility 2 vs. Intel 320

So the Agility 2 is on sale (240 gb) for $311 after rebate (Tigerdirect) + cash back vs. the Intel 320 (120 gig) which is $224 on Amazon.

I'm leaning toward the Agility 2 but the recent OCZ fiasco has me cautious. The Intel is way more expensive but less headaches and potential problems (heard it's more stable?). I'm just looking for a drive for a laptop to use for some office work and gaming (steam) which may fill up a 120 gig drive easily. I will be upgrading from a 5400 rpm hdd.

Which would be best for my purposes?

Both have 5 year warranties and neither is OCZ!

If 120GB won't be enough, the Agility 2 would be a great drive. The 25nm Sandforce OCZ "2" series SSD issue was worse with regards to small drives having fewer channels which slowed performance.

Given the two brands, I'd go for Intel over OCZ at equal price per GB every time, but comparing $311 for 240GB to $224 for 120GB in a laptop, where you are usually limited to one internal drive, the decision is nowhere near as cut and dry in favor of the Intel.

Yea, I saw there was a deal on the 510. Initially I saw the 510 was faster than the 320 in sequential read/write, and it was the same price so I went with the 510. Now I'm looking at a bunch of reviews and it seems that the 320 is the better choice better over all random 4k read/write. So now I'm back to square one.

As for the Agility 2, I like how the power consumption is lower than the Intel offerings but the horror stories of the reliability with OCZ drives are making second guess the deal. If there was no problem with reliability I would definitely jump on the Agility 2 over the Intel drives.

Yea I'll stick with the 510 since the rebate promotion ends today. I guess I can get a 32 gig SD card for extra space if needed. The agility 2 promotion ends tomorrow...

Installed the 510 and did a clean install and man it's blazing fast enough for me (loads up in less than 20 seconds). Here's a video of someone has the same config.

Yep. Windows experience for disk access was 7.5 while I was downloading off steam.
