Agilent (HP) Arcticooler?

Hi,

I just ordered an Arcticooler from Hewlett Packard (the original after which the Golden Orb was modeled), and i was wondering if anyone has experiences with it on an Athlon. Anyone with experiences with it, let me know.

HP is HP. Agilent is Agilent. HP is NOT Agilent. Articooler is made by Agilent.

Please. Agilent USED to be a FEW divisions in HP. But not anymore. Agilent IS a SEPARATE COMPANY list as "A" and HP is listed as "HWP".

I went to their website and checked, and you are right.

But anyway, more so than wether or not Agilent is HP, i bought their cpucooler and am interested in people experiences with it here.

Do a search for "articooler" and you should find at least 5 recent discussions of this matter in this forum. Good luck.

I have a friend who is using one on an ASUS A7V, and it works great for him. Just take your time putting it on, and make sure that you are doing it in good light so that you can clearly see if there are any hangups. I tried one on my CUSL2 and the clip on the cooler would not go under the notch on the socket correctly.

The confusion with these products is humourous. The HP product was the ARCTIC CIRCLE. The Agilent product is the Arcticooler. So do a search for Arctic Circle cuz I have no experience with them.

If you are talking about the big ol' Panaflo Orb that was originally for workstations, go to overclockers.com and scroll down, there is a write up about putting one on Socket CPUs, and also on a slot Athlon. Decent results with lots of effort. I have one on my PII, and it looks like more trouble than it is worth to put on a socket CPU. Looks pretty easy to put on a slot Athlon, and should perform fairly well and be nice and quiet.

If you are talking about an Agilent Articooler, the results have been wildly mixed (some people rave, others have horror stories), as searching this forum will reveal.

Dude, Agilent is a spin-off company of HP. So Agilent is very much related to HP...

I know a guy who works in Sales for Agilent and he says that many there still consider themselves a part of the HP world--especially those who worked for HP before the spin-off.

Subhuman, so what's your point??? The fact of the matter is still that Agilent sells Articooler; Agilent gets paid for the Articooler they sold; Agilent get the earnings from these sales. HP gets nothing and you don't call HP if your Articooler fails; you call Agilent. So what if Agilent was part of HP before?
