Ageia Physics Card w/demo

last i heard, Q2 '06 . . .

ATi said the r520 can use its "extra" bandwith to do physics processing without affecting the Gfx.

Hey, on that page are screenshots from RoboHordes, the Intel-only Unreal Engine 3 game.

I didn't know it used AGEIA's physics engine...

i think theres a distinct difference between what ATI (and nv too for that matter) say they can do.....and what the card can actually do.

i doubt we'll see any physics acceleration from R520

Unreal Engine 3 is one of the main supports of AGEIA; they've been pimping UE3 support since day 1.

Yep, And I am hoping that it continues to support it. I have faith in this next breakthrough in technology. It will probably have a hard time gaining a foothold, but isn't in the upcoming PS3 (or something similiar). I read somewhere that it will support the Havok engine too.

Man, those videos are awsome. How can anyone not think about the possiblities this will open? Bring back Red Faction and it geophyics deformations. The piles of bodies laying around and having to walk around them (or use them for cover) Serious Sam comes to mind... oh yeah.
