Age of Mythology or GTA:VC?

Lonyo

Lifer
I have AoE 1&2 and expansions, and GTA and GTA3.

I'm going to get one of the two games in the topic to help me manage to endure my 7 week break from school.

I have Morrowind, eRacer, BG2, UT, ad others to help as well, and I'm getting Republic: The Revolution whenever it comes out, but since Rep: Rev has been delayed, I have some spare $$$ and I'm thinking between AoM and GTA:VC. I like both of the games that came before them, so I'm not sure which to buy, partly in terms of longevity (Morrowind will last, would be nice to have something else that will too).

VC easily best singleplayer game ive played in a Long Time. There's a *lot* to do on the missions (way more than GTA3 iirc), but thats only half the game. Plus like all GTA games you an just pick it up and senselessly rain down the random violence for a bit, without being stuck in linear mission design.

VC and Morrowind rock. I've never played Age of Mythology.

I had this same exact question while I was at wal-mart looking at both those games.

I have aok and conquerors, and I wanted to get aom, but I still love the castle thing not into the mythology stuff much...

Anyway, I went for GTA:VC and I have no regrets. A lot of fun, and like someone else mentioned you can pick and choose what you would like to do during the game.

I just hope they make another age of kings like game some day with better graphics, more depth to what you can do too 😀

Consider Gothic 2. If I had to choose one of the two you listed though, then Vice City should be entertaining far longer than AoM.

If you're an AOE nut you should try Empire Earth. It's exactly what AOE 2 should have been (and it's made by the same guy who did AOE 1).

I ordered GTA: VC because my gf wants to borrow it when I'm done with it and when she has her new computer.

Got Morrowind it takes quite a while to do things, but it's fun, and I can stick with AoE 1&2.

So VC for some quick fun really 🙂 Thanks for the replies.
