Age of Mythology LOCKUP BEEPING!

ok, i installed a new copy of Age of Mythology on my:
P3 500 @560
512mb ram (PC100/133 mix)
ASUS P2b-s mobo
SCSI 18gig HD (i think its 7200 rpm)
SB Live! Value
ATi Rage Pro Fury GL 128 (32mb)
48x CD-ROM
ok, so i can play AoM well and all, im running at 800*600*32, then, the thing freezes up and my comp starts making a REALLY high pitched beeping and it goes on till i restart the comp. i tried 640*480*32, same problem after awhile. i tried playing as everything and everybody, i can never win a game (somehow that's usually when it locks up) and when i play egyptians, seems to lock up even faster
any suggestions (i do believe i have the newest drivers/BIOS for everything)?

sounds like overtemp alarm

check in bios to raise the temp or take the side of the case off and point a fan at it

just one that it might be

my p-4 has this i turned off the warning in bios till i get better fans for it then reset the overheat warning
