I can't wait for this game after the major disappointment that was "Empire Earth II", im not sure if I've played an RTS since (not including the AOE 3 Demo, which I'd have to say was very well done)

I think it's better that way. Modern age weapons (as in Rise of Nations) just doesn't work for me in these type games.

I felt like I was playing empire earth 2 again....IMO, its either swords and catapults (AOE1/2) or modern (starcraft/C&C generals), dont really dig the whole medieval thing

what I still dont get is why would they put a GUI that takes 1/3 of the screen. Why not make everythintg smaller?

Age of Empires is not supposed to be a modern game! Have you ever played Age of Empires II? It's probably the best or one of the best RTS games of all time, and it's in the medieval age.

Edit: Just finished the gamespot review - I'm pretty dissapointed that the naval combat with the AI is still pretty bad, as well as the fact that your experience points are seperate on and offline.

Apparently you can change the interface size in the options in the full game.

Its not completely bad but,

1. The lack of resources to fully upgrade sucks
2. The slow build times make it worse
3. You can change the screen size but not the distance from the ground
4. The icons of your people are too small at times to be effective (although there are other ways to control them)
5. there is too little of what made aoe and aoe 2 great (upgrades. it has some but with little to no real effect)
6. they added points and cards to the game, I would rather play p&t than this pos.

The differences are vast and nowhere near as fun.

I miss the priests abilities in aoe.

End Rant
