Age of Empires III crashes randomly . . .

Hi, I recently finished the AOE III campaign (finally) and started playing the skirmish mode. However, I'm having a problem with the game crashing my entire system periodically. Sometimes it happens after only about ten minutes into a game . . . sometimes it happens after an hour or so of gaming while I'm in the main menu . . . when it crashes, my computer shows an empty blue screen and then reboots. I don't get a "Windows Has Recovered From a Serious Error" screen after the comp reboots.

Any suggestions? I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with my GPU . . .

my screen doesnt go blue but my computer blacks out and restarts on bf2

Just found out that certain Sound Blaster Cards can cause AOE III to crash. I disabled Hardware Sound Acceleration in dxdiag. I'll see if this fixes it . . .
