Might be true, but I would think we need to wait a while, like 4 in Q4 '06 and 5 in Q4 '07 at least.

I really think they lost touch with why the game was enjoyable. None of the games that have come after AOEII have had quite the same style to them...Empire Earth, Rise Of Nations, etc. Just polished poop in comparison...

Totally agree there. I still play AOE I and AOE II but after testing the demo of AOE III decided it was a lost cause.

I played the game and thought it was ok. What makes is so different from I and II? I play games like homeworld and ground control, rome total war and the likes, and it seems pretty tight. What did they loose touch in?

They took away advanced military options and the zoom is terrible. Those are two of my bigger complaints with aoe3.

The pic of the guy in the V column looks like Master Chief. AOE:V Combat evolved! :D

Well personally I didn't find anything wrong with the old layout or controls...maybe I've just lost interest in relearning how to play.

Looks like something that could be out of rise of nations.

I didn't care for the demo of AOE 3. I really don't care for Colonial America.

I guess AOE 2 is the end of the line for me. Maybe 4 or 5 will change my mind...

Yeah my problem too. Its not that I dont appreciate america and americans. But being an australian and playing a game based on american history is, well, just plain uninteresting to me.

Well seems like Microsoft is releasing a fizzer of a game then. AOE I and II had a subject we could all more or less relate to, but III is too "self centered" and 4 & 5 look like more of "Age of Americans I & II" not Age of Empires 4 & 5.

yup, same here.

after serious sam, max payne, diablo II, and Aoe II, i've basically stopped getting excited about games. (i think these make up 4 of the 5 game genre's.)

i've bought other games since, i play them a little, then it goes on the shelf.

the 5th game genre is something along the lines Civ. (and i guess sim city.) civ III was disappointing. will try Civ IV, but am not that enthrus about it.

sigh.. guess serious sam, max payne, diablo II, and Aoe II was the golden age of gaming. and now we are in the twilight. hope the next golden age comes soon... going outside and getting real sunlight makes my eyes hurt. :p

Apparently the image was found in the AOEIII Collector's Series

Damnit, wish I would have bought it now :( Was either that or Call of Duty 2 Collector's Edition. Only jumped at COD 2 because I got a free shirt.
