I really think they lost touch with why the game was enjoyable. None of the games that have come after AOEII have had quite the same style to them...Empire Earth, Rise Of Nations, etc. Just polished poop in comparison...

I played the game and thought it was ok. What makes is so different from I and II? I play games like homeworld and ground control, rome total war and the likes, and it seems pretty tight. What did they loose touch in?
Well personally I didn't find anything wrong with the old layout or controls...maybe I've just lost interest in relearning how to play.Originally posted by: Strk

They took away advanced military options and the zoom is terrible. Those are two of my bigger complaints with aoe3.

I didn't care for the demo of AOE 3. I really don't care for Colonial America.
I guess AOE 2 is the end of the line for me. Maybe 4 or 5 will change my mind...

Yeah my problem too. Its not that I dont appreciate america and americans. But being an australian and playing a game based on american history is, well, just plain uninteresting to me.

AoE3 needs to be less simplified.
