Cathedral City had a few copies of Age of Conan left. Usually, it means that all Targets also will clearance it
.. of course YMMV.

The monthly fee alone is ~$16; good deal i think - the retail game plus 30 days of online play for $9.98
- personally it is the only MMORPG i really like.

Already $10 after a few months. That should tell you something about this "hot" deal. Or well not so hot deal.

Tried it out back when it came out and really didn't like it much. Did they improve the game itself? I remember high end systems would crawl when attempting to play.

A 4870 can run it maxed out on DX9 - that is all that was available to me last month for the trial

i liked it; i wrote a little review about AoC in my sig
- i understand that once you get to the high levels, you run out of content

- well, i only expect to play for a month .. for $10
- LotRO bored the crap outta me; that was $40 shot to hell for 3 months of tedious crafting - this one is at least interesting and the grinds aren't as boring as WoW's early levels.

it is a hot deal compared to paying $50 ... or even $40 for it :p

But then i liked Hellgate:London and they are closing for good next month

Excuse me but this is Hot Deals - not video :p

what happened to tabula rasa?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T...a_Rasa_(computer_game)

Tabula Rasa is slated to close as of February 28, 2009, with servers becoming free to play on January 10, 2009.[2]

Hellgate:London is also closing in January - free to play till Jan 31st for owners of the game; at least Hg:L has an offline SP game

http://www.hellgatelondon.com/

Don't worry, you may well get your 30 days play for $10 with AoC .. they are still promising an X-box version

It really is sad that WAR and Conan weren't able to bring the WoW behemoth down. I would play an mmo but nothing is out there besides WoW and Eve

I think it deserves a shot by anyone that likes MMOs in the *style* of WoW - which is pretty much every MMO nowadays. Anyways, I like EQ2 better than WoW; there just seems to be more to the game.

I don't know what you're looking for, but I switched from WoW to Dungeons & Dragons Online. I prefer the dynamic combat, character building, and general greater maturity of the players.

A number of players jumped over to AoC, but came back to DDO.

Very different indeed. Sony just announced RMT for EQ and EQ2 yesterday. You can now buy items etc with real money in both. It's a slippery slope and those two games have now fallen into the abyss.

I have found a lot of the playerbase refuses to move because of the mentality that they've spent too much time "building up their char". Warhammer and Eve are both very successful MMOs, but to think WoW is going to end before blizzard decides its EOL is insane.

I had fun with this game for 2-3 months. The first 10 levels is the most fun I've had in an MMO. The first 40 levels are also excellent: graphics are the best of any mmo by far, sound/music is terrific and the questing fun. Unless something's changed since Sept., after level 40, it's suckage and grind.

$10 + 30 days free is a steal for this game imo.
