Age of Conan Delayed Again

Yep. Unfortunately, they're going to have to settle for the lamentation of the gamers for a while. Can't say I'm surprised, but still a little disappointed nonetheless.

Sounds like they're determined to come out around the same time as WAR, which is also due in Q2 '08. I can't believe I'm actually considering re-activating my WoW account.

AoC has to be great or they are not going to make money... so whatever they got to do to make AoC great... they better do it.

With WoW and LOTRO (particularly LOTRO, IMO) they have very tough MMO's to pull people from.

Well, delayed or not i'll be having a go at it.

I'm hoping that working with a clan will reduce the grinding to a point that i can tolerate it.

That, and have wars with all the complexities that EvE has (i can't stand grinding for money in that game).

I'm more interested in Warhammer Online,I wonder if they will both get released around the same time?

I was kind of looking forward to it, but I'm starting to doubt it's going to be great. I watched a video of someone playing it and the melee didn't seem all that fluid. That and the whole combo thing seems like it's just making you jump through hoops just to melee, which will get very boring very quick in an MMO. I'd rather have multiple skills that I have to apply at the right time like in WoW than have to worry about whether I need to do one swing or another after a particular swing just to do a little more damage. Even saying that I'm still hoping it's good; I'm getting tired of WoW personally, but I have my doubts on the whole thing.

I was going to build a new PC to play WAR and/or AoC (my rig is old), but instead I'm going to buy a new guitar and practice amp. If the games ever come out, then I'll build me a new PC.

Meh... Warhammer online looks identical to WoW at first glance, appears to require a crap load of grinding and only sets itself apart with better PvP. I will not play a game that has grinding at the core of it's game play (wow) and/or requires a lot of grinding to be able to do anything meaningful (eve).

If age of conan or darkfall do this, they will not be getting my money either.

WAR isn't like WoW at all and it seems you don't know much about the game. WAR is more akin to DAOC then anything else but then again people who don't bother to inform themselves are going to be wrong a lot. Oh and I do enjoy EVE Online and I am also looking forward to WAR. I'd suggest you inform yourself on WAR more rather then jumping the gun and thinking the end game content for WAR will be PVE raids...ala WoW. If you think WAR is just about PVE game play you are sorely mistaken.

@Drift3r

Then perhaps you could make a thread listing the positive and negative aspects of WAR, and what is similar/dissimilar to WoW. I also am not so much concerned that it will just be PvE raids, but that it will a grind based game.

I've look at some trailers, looked at the website and that is where my interest dropped off. When it does come out i'll have a look at some gameplay reviews (not gameplay footage), but until then, Meh.

I will have to agree.Gear based grindfests have run their course with me as well.I was originally looking forward to WAR(and AoC) but the more I peel back the onion(watching vids,reading their forums) the less excited I become.

sounds like the WAR fanboy that posted a similar reply to a similar comment i made. he never gave any reasons why it won't be that way. he says its like DAOC but i played DAOC from release for about 1.5 to 2 years and it was a pretty big grind.
