Why is it "OK" to restrict the hell out of young drivers, but when old people (senior citizens) have the slightest restrictions placed on their license, there are 100 lawyers from here to florida screaming bloody murder?

What's up with that? Half of the idiots that I see at the polls are just voting because of all the "you should vote!" campaigns, not because they actually care about *gasp* THE ISSUES!
I'm sure that there are ALOT of teenagers that know more about polictical candidates then most "adults"

It might have something to do with the fact that teenage drivers have exponentially higher death/accident rates than any other age group out there. Drunk or Sober.

And I'm equally sure that there are A LOT MORE adults who know more about political issues than most teenagers. And if you think that it's only clueless adults who are voting because of the "get out the vote" campaigns, you're sadly mistaken.

Forget age, I want to see them lower the cost of male insurance and raise the cost of females. I know guys who may speed and whatnot, but they know their vehicle and what it can safely do. Riding with some girls around here will give you an f-ing heart attack!

So are you saying we should give licenses to 16yo teens? No, wait, make it 15yo....maybe 14yo.

What is the problem?

I think several States already have this type of law on the books.

and what your saying is that we should discriminate against people because the majority of their "group" (whether it be racial/ethnic/age/gender, etc.) is not "up to par"?

perhaps we should base our driving licensing system around *gasp* ABILITY TO DRIVE rather than something as meaningless as age.

It's for the common good, we have wives, children, and parents out there who we would like to see tomorrow.

Care to explain why teenage drivers have exponentially higher accident and fatality rates than any other age demographic, yet having SIGNIFICANTLY lower numbers actually driving within that bracket?

impossible. Do you act the same way around cops as you do with your friends? Of course not. And you don't drive the same when you get tested with a driving instructor in the passenger seat as you do cruising with your buddies on a friday night.

I was convinced I could drive at 2, had I been given the keys.

Funny how many 15-18 year olds think they're great drivers.

DonNiggera would be proud.

That doesn't make it constitutional to restrict teens but unconstitutional to restrict anyone else. Did you even read the link that nuclearfusi0n posted? It pretty much sums up how I feel. Hell, my grandfather could barely drive straight when he neared the end, and yet there was nothing anyone could do to take his license away. The man had a stroke for chirst's sake, and he still was able to keep a full license. The only way we were able to take it away from him was to have a doctor tell im he couldn't drive after his kidney's nearly failed. And just so you know, I'm a 16 yr old 2 weeks away from getting a full license, so that makes me biased.

Am I a good driver? I have no idea actually....

Why don't you drive me the 240 miles/week from home to school and back again?

Minors do not the same rights as adults.

Not to mention the fact that driving is not, and never has been, a right.

Driving is a PRIVILEDGE, NOT a right. The sooner you realize this, the sooner you realize how asinine of an argument you have.
