People over 45 were initially not invited to take to the field and dance during the concert, as the task was considered too physically demanding.

But US National Football League (NFL) spokesman Brian McCarthy said: "We wanted to open it up."

The youngest member of the veteran rock performers is 58, while the band has a combined age of 246.

After hearing that fans aged over 45 wanted to attend the event, the NFL decided to invite anyone over the age of 18, without the upper age limit.

The NFL said it would be a "once-in-a-lifetime chance" to experience the prestigious US event "from a totally unique perspective".

They don't worry that having 2000 people dancing on the field will in any way damage it?

..I guess not. Either it grows back or is some sort of astro turf.
