Take a look at this video and the links in its description. Those links can provide somethings that can help. If you could also spread this 2 as many people as possible b4 Dec 9, it would be truly gr8fully appreciated 🙂

At least the video preview pane is better than P&Ns video posters whose preview panes are always some shirtless guy wearing a leather jacket and a crypt keeper hair cut standing next to a map with a bunch of pins connected with yarn strings.

With the new COPA rules if you found to be making videos of interest to children you can be fined up to $42000, unless, you click the for children checkbox which nukes searchability, comments and recommendations.

This worries people with channels that focus on subjects like toy collecting and model making. If someone at the FTC decides that toys are for children and children like toys they are now in violation of federal law

Thank you providing context that the OP is incapable of providing.

Im pretty sure toys are for children and chlidren like toys. Could you maybe give a better extreme example of how it could go wrong?

Not that I care much about the subject.

I think he was saying a guy who likes models planes and his channel is dedicated to adults making models could possibly run into advertising/COPPA issues because he channel isn’t flagged for kids and if he does flag it for kids he will lose advertising money. Sort of a catch 22.
I do feel this is an extreme case I can’t imagine that many adult airplane modeling groups making that much money with YouTube videos.
As with any change there are winners and losers.

This coppa thing is insane. It's not 100% Youtube's fault in this case, it's the America's draconian overreaching laws. They always go overboard when it comes to anything computer or internet related. This is going to affect content creators even outside of Youtube and outside the US. Ideally what you need to do now is have non child appropriate content in all your videos to make sure the algorithm does not think your videos are child appropriate. Drinking beer, maybe smoking weed etc. Suppose you could fake it if you don't do any of those things. I only recently got in the vlog scene and my channel is super small so I'm not sure what I will do, it may not be worth the risk to continue, not like I have a huge following. You can set your video as child compliant but then you lose pretty much everything such as monetization and even comments or any kind of interaction with your followers. If you don't set as child appropriate but the algorithm thinks it is, then you can get fined. My channel is too small to be monetized so I don't care about that part but a lot of bigger Youtubers are going to get screwed by this.
