OK so I will be getting the new qx6750 that runs at a 1333 fsb so what speed memory do I need for that with out having to overclock?
Will my ddr2 pc6400 work or will I have to overclock it?
Please let me know if anyone has any idea's.
Thanks for the help.
I don't believe that there is any release date for a QX6750 at this point... correct me if I'm wrong on that. Either way your memory should be fine for a 1333FSB chip.
Thanks so much for the quick reply guys.
Well to answer your question I am not fascinated with "big" FSBs as I am fascinated with getting a quad core but if I have a choice of getting a quad with 1066FSB or one with 1333FSB which one are you going to pick cause my money is on the 1333FSB.
Well since my memory is DDR2 pc800 or 6400 and you say that pc667 will be good so I am one happy camper.
I think I am going to go buy 2 more sticks of the same stuff I currently have to give me a total of 4GB so I will be set for Windows vista 64.
So one more quick question is 4GB of dd2 going to be the norm for people using vista or do you think most people will run 8GB?
Actually, the "norm" will probably be 512MB - 1GB. Enthusiasts will be mainly at 2GB with a select few running 4GB. Most of those running 4GB will most likely not use more than 2GB on a regular basis though. This may change as more 64 bit software comes around, but 2GB will be sufficient for a while.
2Gb's is more then enough ... with DDR3 comming out at super fast speeds there's no point getting 4Ghz of DDR2 2 is more then enough until your next upgrade

Not to mention that to fully utilize 4gb you will have to run the 64bit version of Vista. 32bit XP or 32bit Vista will only recognize a max of 3.25gb and can only allocate a max of 2gb to any one app.
