Sweet. Just got one at the local staples. It is the new version for XP. Pricematched it with Shentech for a grand total of $62.21. The rebate even printed out at the register. If staples only new their own price matching policy. 😛

<< How do you pricematch Staples B&M with an online store? Just take in a printout? >>

Exactly. I printed out this page. I did a checkout to the point were they showed the shipping cost. Some staples will charge you the shipping, which they did for me. It was something like $7.95. I printed out that page that showed the shipping with the scanner and off I went to staples. I had to go to the customer service desk because the lady didn't know how to do price match. The guy behind the counter had to get his manager's approval. She approved it and did the 110% price match.

As they printed out the receipt, the rebate also printed out. The guy was like, oh you get a rebate too. He didn't even look at how much. 🙂

Edit: They no longer carry it on the website.

I may sound like an idiot here but I have no idea what "b&m" means. i'm new to these forums and have seen it quite alot but don't have a clue what it stands for.

I go this scanner with the last rebate offer. For the price it is hard to pass up. The paralle and usb cable are worth $10..took about 4 weeks to get the $80 rebate back

B&M stands for Brick & Mortar..stores with a foundation and walls you walk into 🙂

I got rejected on my Amex price match for the recent Staples sale on the Visioneer 8100 scanner. I bought the scanner at a B&M store, and mailed them the info price matched at another web site.

They rejection notice says the merchant (Staples) offers a price match, and that makes it not covered by the BVGP by AMEX.

My first time trying to use my Amex blue to price match and I got rejected, bummer.

I can't get this thing to work with Windows 2000. It detects fine, but when I press the scan button, it warms up the lamp, but reports "image acquisition failed," then opens the onetouch configuration and tells me to configure email. I press OK, and the email thing comes up again, and again, and again...

If i try to "acquire" from any image program, it warms up the lamp, then tells me it's not properly connected. But everything is connected perfectly because Windows realizes it's there. All this time, the scanner doesn't move or make a sound, so I'm not sure it's even working. Only the lamp is on. I've updated it with two patches and now i have to update paperport because I got stuck with the 6.1 version. Nothing works! Anyone knows what's wrong or have similar problems?

Also, does anyone have the visioneer telephone number? i can't find it.

You have to wait 14 days if you want to match Staples -- that's when the Staples price matching policy expires. Or... if it has been less than 14 days, you can get them to match it.

I bought this scanner through Staples online about a month ago, added the paperclips to get over $100 ($20 off $100) and sent in the $80 rebate. Got the paperclips in 2 days (in a huge box) and the scanner in about 4 days. Just got the $80 check last week.
The 8100 works great. I gave it to my dad so he can scan a bunch of his old pictures.
I can't believe Staples can stay in business offering deals like this!!!
Thanks Anandtechers for another HOT deal!

just wondering can your pricematch with Staples after you bought this scanner. i picked one up last week and did the rebate thing,
can i go back to the store and request a pricematch now or can you only get it when you buy the item?

thanks

The bm recepit says 3 per household/name but online it says 1 per household/name... who should i believe/?? should i claim 2 rebates under 1 name/address??? thanks
