The stock cooler is quiet and does it's job, the only upgrade worth your time would be water cooling.

Currently theres the HR-03 and the HR-11.

HR-03 is a 6 heatpipe (3slot) HSF for the GTX/GTS cards. It becomes 4 slot if you add in a fan i think.

People with such HSF has reported large decrease in temps both idle and load. e.g idle 45C ish and load 50~60ish.

The HR-11 is another thermalright product to cool the backside of the GTX/GTS cards. Not sure about how good this one performs.

Other then that.. no.

Zalman has yet to release their new cooler for G80 based cards.

Zalman vf1000 is also now available for use. (its expensive due to the ramsinks that it comes with but looks pretty :D)

Dual slot, similiar to the GTX cooler of the 7900GTX/78000GTX 512mb.

The HR-03 plus doesn't come with a fan. Comes with ramsinks and other things. Its pure Aluminum. Adding a 120mm or 92mm fan is a good idea but takes up many slots.

The HR-03 Plus now comes with everything you need for the 8800GTS. The description on newegg, for example, is wrong about needing an additional part (check the recent reviews from July 2007).

Depends who you ask and what board you use. But reviews say that the card+hr-03+fan takes up at least 4-5 slots. See here, for example (second post), and here (second post).

In other words, a lot of slots :D
