Ick... that's Monster Miata all over again... at least Mallet seems to only do their job with the best stuff. Penske double adjustables? NICE
You'll probably need better shocks and springs to offset the change in weight balance from the LS2.

Question is how the chassis will handle the big aluminum V8 without additional chassis reinforcement. It might be stellar on a smooth highway but absolute junk as the chassis flexs and twists over rough stuff and corners.

I'm betting that the conversion to the LS2 pretty much requires removal of AC, but then again it is a roadster... not much of an issue.

I'd much rather slap a nice 50trim turbo on it and get the same 400hp instead of worrying about the low end torque annhilating the tires, esp if you're putting paper thin 19s on it. How friggin stiff are those sidewalls going to have to be? And you're going to ask them to absorb ~400ft/lbs of torque? Damn... the LSD should be part of the package so you can evenly smoke your tires out of existence.

It would probably be a fair bit more driveable with even a smaller mebbe 44trim turbo or something like a Mitsu 20G also capable of 400bhp with good tuning, the right internals, and 93 octane. Even nice centrifugal supercharger would probably be a choice to reach around 350bhp without as much lag as a turbo. The Ecotec is a pretty strong engine with all the work GM has done on it. In the end, if you just want more power... there are cheaper ways to 400hp than the Mallet method. 18K for a package that probably won't be a collector item? Nah...

Actually - the V8 is just a few pounds more than the stock engine, not significatly impacting the balance nor handling of the vehicle.

there is no A/C standard on the solstice.
