After watching Katie Couric I think I will miss Dan Rather

Bland, boring and I can't take her seriously at all. They are paying her $15 million a year to read news, it's a sick world we live in.

At least Dan Rather was fun to watch during the election coverage.

It is a sick world....

it is amazing these people make so much money, but any public servant is at the poverty or just above poverty level...

welcome to a capitalist country where movie stars and sports stars are more important than social workers, firemen, cops...etc

if i hear one more super model, stating how hard her life is and how hard she works, i am going to put rat poison in her cocaine... bleh...just amazing..

So a liberal douche replaces a liberal dipshit. I wouldn't watch either.

Isn't Rush supposed to be on Couric's show for some kind of "free speech" segment?
Yeah, it will be on tonight (9/7/2006).

Yeah, it's like you getting replaced by a 3 inch penis.... same thing.

Anyhow, at least it isn't fox news.

Hey, if I have a desire to watch news I definately watch Fox. Why? Because it is at least entertaining. You see, I'm neither a Democrat nor a Republican and I can tell you two things. One, Republican news is entertaining. Two, Democrat news is boring and/or whiny. You decide!

And that's kind of the big problem with cable news. News shouldn't be entertaining.

It should be mundane. Reporters should be monotone and lacking modulation control.
It should be b&w and full of static. It also shouldn't appeal to the senses or envoke any emotion.

no, it should be information dense. less fluff, i'd rather get my dose of news as fast as possible then be badly entertained. we have x hours in a day, better to spend the free time watching csi or somethin than some idiot pundits wack off on cable news.

Oh please, they're nothing compared to the far right reporters on fox news.

It's one thing to be on the left or right. It's another to not admit your bias plays a role in your reporting. Couric fails miserbaly in the latter.

And Rather was a lead participant in putting out forged documents just in time for an election.

I've stopped watching pretty much all TV/Cable news shows now. I can get much more accurate information more quickly elsewhere.

What's sad is that anchors aren't supposed to be funny or entertaining. They are supposed to be an unbiased medium, delivering news in a timely and objective manner. Now we have people like O'Reilly, Glenn Beck, and that other witch on CNN spouting off trash.

The real news people of a bygone age must be pretty sad.

O'Reilly, Hannity & Colmes, The Olbermann Report, and shows like those aren't news shows. They are opinion shows.

Limbaugh topics could be:

1. His three marriages and divorces and recent shack up with a CNN news babe.

2. His heroin addiction.

3. The little blue pills he needs to get a stiff cigar.

4. His Yo Yo diet, he's fat agian.

Too bad drooling knuckle draggers take it as news or think it's cool. Why have an opinion when you can have one fed to you?
