Well, after much crap and BS I was able to install XP so at least it works and even more important, get my iPod functioning and usable. One problem remains: when I start my comp, it asks which version of windows to use and lists three of them. That can't be good...

Did you do a complete format?

just edit your boot.ini file and delete the other entries.
