after market CPU cooler void original warranty ?

I was told by the local computering service shop that install the after market cpu heat sink/fan will void my Intel's original 3 years warranty, is this true?

im not sure about this. but on an ati video card if u replace the stock heatsink and fan with your own, you will void the warranty, so i think it may be true.

No, Intel reps. have stated in many publications that it is ok but not recommended. Your warranty will only be void if the new heatsink fan is the direct cause of the failure. This is not likely unless you bust the chip putting it on or the processor overheats do to improper installation.. If you dig through intels site you can actually find recommended third party heatsinks. Coolermaster is one of them.

That is true, but a totally different region... Replacing a GPU HSF fan is a bigger deal than CPU HSF. Especially since you can order OEM CPU's that come without any cooling.
