My Dad is planning on selling me either our car or truck when I am in the position where I need a vehicle. I really want the truck (2000 Chevy S-10) because I enjoy driving it more, but it has no A/C which is a KILLER in the summetime. Is it possible to have an A/C system installed after-market? How much will this run me? Too much to be worth it? I could always just take the car (2000 Nissan Sentra)

Yeah it is and I think it's $1000ish, though it would depend on the vehicle.

A few years ago I was looking at some vehicle and they didn't come with AC and the dealer said that they have a place add them and that's how much it was...

Ouch...well I guess I was expecting it to be a lot. Thanks

My figure may be massively off, but if it is, it's low.

Vintage Air

I know a few people who have used these kits in their muscle cars and are quite happy with it. Not sure if it can work on an S-10 or not though.

Get a Haynes manual and you might be able to install it yourself if the normal compressor location is not buried too deep. Just add about double the rebuild time to allow for rusted bolts and nuts.
