After market 8800gt cooling

I bought the Zotac 8800gt, the one that comes factory OCed to 700mhz. I love the card but the fan is loud! Like drunken Rosie O'Donnell loud. So I am looking to purchase a new quieter HSF for my vid card. I don't want to go passive for fear the card would just get too hot.

I have been looking at these coolers over at new egg:

Zalman ZF1000 This one looks nice and Zalmans has a good rep for making low noise solutions

ZEROtherm Hurricane This got a fairly good review somewhere I can't remember, any one know how quiet this thing is?

XIGMATEK VD964 Looks to be effective might be louder.

I didn't see this at the egg but I have heard some good things about it:

Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 Rev. 2 The most popular VGA cooler as far as I can tell.

Does any one have any personal experience or stories about any of these coolers or other better coolers to help steer my purchasing decision?

This is the best for your 8800GT. Had one with a silent 120mm fan on it and I volt modded the hell out of my GT. Only when I increased the gpu voltage to 1,4 V, the S1 started to show its thermal limits.
A HR-03 GT, T-rad or Scythe Musashi might provide you lower temperatures then the S1, but they usually cost more.

I have been leaning towards the Accelero S1 Rev. 2.

Can I attached one of the Yate Loons have laying around to it easily? Or do I have to purchase the "Turbo Mode" fan set that AC markets to go with it?

The turbo module doesn't look that impressing INMO. An 120 mm fan moves more air then what those little fans. Is very easy to attach your Yate Loons, using zip ties.

You get get it for about $25 shipped from some other retialers.

I'd go with the S1. It will outperform the stock cooler significantly and be 100% silent w/ no moving parts. Shop around and you can find it for less... i've seen it over at NCIX for $24CDN from time to time.

It should work, if you have a good airflow in your case and a not so very high ambient room temp. But strapping a 1000 rpm 120 mm fan onto the S1, will give you much better temperatures and still dead silent.

As with Zap, I have one in this machine and I love it. My card is running at 640MHz and passive cooling with the Accelero is better than the active stock cooling. I would think you should be fine.

Make sure you clean the tops of your RAM chips thoroughly or the ramsinks won't stick properly. This is true of any aftermarket cooler. If something does go wrong, you can do what I did and buy Seksui thermal tape very cheaply on eBay to reattach loose sinks.

Can't stress this enough. Even a thorough cleaning with rubbing alcohol didn't do it. A lot of people use naphtha as it dissolves some things alcohol won't.
