Hi all!

I got this problem with my rig. I installed CS source and after playing it once the Desktop and graphics look smeared. I tried rolling back the system deinstalling the graphic drivers just about everything and nothing works. My rig is a Abit 9WD MAX C2D E6600 Leadtek PX8800 GTS 640MB Monitor is the Samsung Syncmater 940BW 19". Im running a dual boot system With winxp pro sp2 and Vista ultimate x86. On vista the card is running perfectly so I dont think it is a problem with the card. Any help apprieciated.

What do you mean 'smeared'? Blurry, or what? It may be possible that you are not running the game at your monitor's native resolution.

Thanks for replying and yes they are blurry. The game is not the problem. The problem is how my desktop looks now and I cant get it back sharp the way it was before.

Reading the post might help.

OP, you said you 'deinstalled' all graphics drivers? How did you do this? Did you also use DriverCleaner?

Aha! I think I may know the problem.
I have a SyncMaster 906BW, and every once in a while when it comes out of standby, it effs up the image settings. First, try Image Reset in the monitors menu, and if that doesn't work, turn it off, unplug it, and then turn it back on. If neither of those options work, I dunno; probably another problem.

If the desktop is blurry, use the auto-adjust button or option in the menu.
If the game is "blurry" in maps such as de_dust 1 or de_train then it is the HDR setting.

Thanks for all your tips. I'm working with vista right now and will try some of them out especially the uplug monitor image reset. Since i have the monitor connected per DVI i cant make any adjustments in the menu only analog allows this.

Well I tried just aout everything and nothing seems to work it must be some kind of windows problem. Ill probably have to reformat and install windows again. That might be tricky because i dont want to install vista again. Ill ask in the software forum how to do this.
Thanks again for all the tips. :)
