After hours oil recycliing in Florida

I live in Florida (specifically Orlando). Reading some websites, I found out it's illegal to leave motor oil after hours for recycling in California, but is this illegal in Florida? The idea is that they want to be sure the oil isn't contaminated. (Mine probably isn't... I put the old oil back into the new containers and they've been sealed ever since. Florida is typically more lax in its environmental laws. We don't even do vehicle emissions inspections.

In Florida it's probably legal to dump them on an alligator that's swimming through the everglades.
