Example: any p4 system

If i were able to overclock a cpu successfully on:

-stock voltage
-locked the pci/agp
-5:4 ratio

will temperature change since it is still on stock voltage?

also,what else will change besides fsb and cpu speed?

Many Thanks

Well your heat will go up, but prob. not much. Your system will run faster, and if your ram will handle the speed, you shouldn't see much else happen other than a speed boost.

hehe ~ this is my kind of Q! ;)

EXAMPLE: def vcore
2.4 @ 2400mhz = 45.0*C idle / 57.5*C P95
2.4 @ 3000mhz = 45.5*C idle / 60.5*C P95
2.4 @ 3400mhz = 45.5*C idle / 61.5*C P95

EXAMPLE: more vcore @ 3400mhz
1.550v = 45.5*C idle / 63.0*C P95
1.575v = 47.0*C idle / 64.5*C P95
1.600v = 47.0*C idle / 66.0*C P95
1.625v = 48.0*C idle / 67.0*C P95
1.650v = 48.5*C idle / 67.5*C P95

room temp = 75*F

as you can see ~ adding vcore gets much much hotter then the actual OCing.

HTH :)

I saw very little rise in Tcore when I upped FSB from 166 to 200 on my system (see sig), maybe 1 or 2 degrees max. Upping Vcore even a little will cause Tcore to go up in more noticeable increments.

I don't have any scientific data to present like Thugs did but I'm basically in agreement with him.
