After College: Making New Friends

I am facing a dilemma of sorts. I just recently graduated from college and a number of my friends moved to other places. The rest of them all have very work intensive engineering jobs and don't time to hang out anymore. I find myself wanting to do things, but I have no one to do them with (no offense honey :) ) It seems like all my friends are just gone. I am a pretty personable person, I had lots of friends, but I always met them at school or at work. Considering I don't have either of those right now, I don't really have a way to make new friends. Where do you guys make new friends? It seems like it would be creepy to go up to guys at a bar or what have you. Anyone in the Minneapolis area want a new friend? :)

EDIT: I'm from the northern burbs (Champlin).

I'm only 22 I don't intend to get married for a loooong time. I just know my gf reads my posts since she is a member, in fact she commented on it as if I had just asked her face to face.

ATOT... oh wait, you mean real friends.

Go to a bar, join some type of club.

Should I be replying to this thread or the duplicate one the forum software spit out?

Edit: duplicate thread gone now

That's about it.

You now have to learn the new skill of making friends instead of having them handed to you.

Clubs (hobbies, sports, church, etc), learning to stand on your own feet.

Where'd you go the 58 Grill? I don't really venture over to Champlin proper to often even though it is only 1 mile away.

The best way to make friends, even in college, is through common interests. I have met most of my friends through the car hobby. When you go to events that gather people of common interests you automatically have one thing in common to get a conversation started and through talking to people it does not take long to start making friends. The nice thing making friends this way is you always have stuff to do together that keeps the relationship growing.

A bar is the worst place to make friends. Any adult who is out of college and hanging out in bars is pathetic. It is one thing to go to a bar with a group for an evening but something completely different and sad to just go to the bar hoping to meet someone to talk to.

Join some groups, check out CL's personals sections, explore your interests!

Might also want to check out Meetin and MeetUp as they are event oriented social networking sites.

I have been trying to join a ninjitsu dojo, but I've emailed them 3 times and still haven't gotten a response, I'm beginning to think they went out of business and the website is still up.
