After booting up it takes forever till programs start!

After I reinstalled windows XP and SP1 and then defragmented my harddisk something must have gone wrong.
Windows now boots very fast but i have to wait for about 3 minutes until certain programs like Outlook or 3DMark2002SE or the system information panel pop up. After 3 minutes, everything works fine...Strange thing is, I installed the same things on a second computer, and the situation is exactly the same!!
Can anyone please help me, thank you all.

try using task manager and see if your cpu is at 100% load

yeah, see whats running that would cause it to have such a load. Think you could give us a rundown on what you have on boot up?

Have you tried running bootvis.exe to find out what's causing the delay?

Thanks a lot for the answers guys! I reinstalled windows and now everything works. I was just wondering if that was a common problem, because it happened on 2 computers...
And yes my CPU load was at 100% and that because some strange idle process was running and that one took 100%, very strange..
