I had an interview with Booz Allen Hamiliton yesterday, and I am not sure what to think of how it went, after the interview the hiring manager spoke with me for about 3 minutes asking me my salary and if I would be interested to come in for a 2nd interview to meet the client side of the job. The way he talked to me and the other people spoke to me they wanted me to come in for a second interview, he indicated they wanted to make a decision by yesterday or today. The HR recruiter informed me before I met with them that if I didnt hear anything to call her on thursday. Being just out of college for 2 days I got an interview with a decent IT Firm, what would you gather from this ? Anyone give me suggestions!

Thanks

my suggestion:

If the HR recuiter doesn't call today, call tomorrow and find out what's up.

What I gathered is that if you don't hear from them by Thursday, give them a call. None of us (AT members) can speak for the firm about you getting hired. Second interview is good, but who knows what will happen. Best of luck to you though.

I have a quick question myself.. I just called about a job I applied for, and when I asked for someone, the lady asked for a Competition Number, so she could forward to the proper person I assume, but that person is on vacation for two weeks.. What else could I do to up my chances?

So did you get the person's voicemail? If you did, leave a polite message saying your name and telephone #, the position you applied for, then say that you are very eager for the opportunity to work there and state that you just wanted to discuss the job in further detail (like you have questions), then repeat your name and telephone number (spell your name too), bid them a good vacation and that you hope to hear from them soon.

Be patient. Presumably it's too late to sway their minds one way or the other, so really your best bet is just to sit tight. The answer to whether or not you got hired is probably decided - however it will sit in HR for anywhere from 2 hours to 2 weeks before they notify you of the outcome.

Thanks mintendo for the encouragement, its a big firm around here and id like to nab the job, simply for the fact that I guess they thought they would know, simply they may not have made a decision, im being impatient, let alone dont like to wait!

Thanks again for coming in. We'll probably have you in again on Friday morning and if things go well, extend an offer by mid to late afternoon.

WEll the thing is they havent called me back yet, they asked me when I could start as well, its sorta crazy i mean i figured hell i had shagged the job, but i guess i really didnt I guess the moment of truth comes out tomorrow when I call the HR chic, i mean they asked me questions and seemed pleased.. He kept on asking me if Entry Level is ok, and I said yes, mainly I am living at home with parents, and have about 18k to pay off in loans, I can handle 35k a year starting out, considering they give 10% profit sharing, they also told me about health insurance so Im begining to get nervous, simply for the fact, i havent heard anything but is that a bad thing ?

To be honest, I'm not sure. You'll find out tomorrow when you call them. Good luck, I've been looking for a job for a while

Thanks Marshmello, yeah it sucks i dont need to be stressed bout it, but its getting to be that way... less than 12 hours really... I am just going to be upset if they are like we hired someone else, i mean i figured them talking about 2nd interview with me and meeting clients meant something.. DOH
