Been entering sweepstakes very consistently for over a year now, would say at least 25 sweeps a day (most are daily so entering the same ones over and over again a lot). Here's what I've won:

Free famous star burger at Carl's Jr
$10 GC to Arby's
$10 GC to Best Buy
$10 GC to Target
Some lame mini cooler
Doritos faceplate for an Xbox 360 (which I don't have)
100 xbox live points

...and that's it. What a bucket of suck. $10 Target/BB gift cards were the best things I won. Kinda figured I'd of won something good by now, spending about 30 min a day entering sweeps for a year. The moral of the story is...don't waste time entering sweeps, all you'll get is spam :p - both email and snail mail spam.

I'm going to keep entering sweeps though cause I'm an idiot. Better odds than the lottery I guess.

Where do you find sweeps?
Google them?
Click on the little popups and such?

If those, how hard are they to enter?
How much SPAM do they give?

Howd you win 4 NHL 08 360 games? :p - Seems to be a lot of computer hardware contests I'm not aware of also.

Kreon: There are few sites that specialize in finding all the sweepstakes you can enter, putting them all on one website. I really don't get much spam at all after entering sweeps for a year. I probably get more spam in my real email account than my dummy email account (that I made for sweeps entering). Usually when entering sweeps they'll give you an option so they won't contact you.

Pepsi Canada contest. There was no limit to how many times you could win. Prizes included 32" LCD TVs, Xbox 360 Arcade consoles, NHL 08 games, autographed Sidney Crosby Jerseys and Hockey sticks, etc.

Quite a few people won multiple times.

30 minutes a day * 365 days a year = 182.5 hours. Seems like the three gcs & free burger were the only things of value you won. Let's be generous & say the burger was worth $5. That's $35 total. $35 / 182.5 hours. That's 19 cents an hour. Let's say you worked an $8/hour job for 182.5 hours. That'd make you $1,460. If you bought 1,460 $1 lotto scratchers, you'd probably end up winning a lot more than $35.

Yeah it's bad. Actually probably only 20 minutes a day, but still. I figure I'll win 10k or 50k sooner or later and it'll all even out :D

That's why I stopped entering contests. I can go to work for 180 hours and buy a new car.

You get $100 per hour? :p - More?

I got a mountain dew Halo 3 shirt in the mail the other day. It's pretty cool actually, I was never told that I won it either.

Or you could just use down time at your existing work to enter them? Or you could even see it as fun, and enter during the downtime you would never use to work. If you mean to say, the countless hours you spend on Anandtech could have been used for work, you yourself could have made money instead of using Anandtech. I mean, you only need 6 hours of sleep a night, why aren't you working the other 18 hours? Eat on the run, don't sit down and you could be a millionaire... Or you could stop nay saying:p

Oh yeah. Lola won a vacation, that's what threw me off.

Actually, WE won that vacation FOR Lola by stuffing her TGI Friday's ballot box.

Wasn't it Chili's or something? The margarita paintings IIRC?
