After a week's worth of hassle, finally get high-speed internet installed...

After about a week's worth of phone calls to my cable company and landlord, I've finally managed to activate my new account for high speed service...

Seems that the previous tenant who lived in my apartment didn't close his account properly, so the cable company said they couldn't activate my new account unless they recieved proof that I am in fact a new tenant.... well that's where it got complicated... my landlord doesn't use Rental Agreements, never has and never will in his 25+ years of business. Just my luck, the cable company required a fax of a Rental Agreement... gah.. so after a week of phone calls and faxes between me, my landlord and cable company, they finally let me open my account today.

All in all, high speed service,

5 Mbps down
640kbps up

all for $34.95 (CDN), per month.

Not too bad of a deal, I could've gone for 10 Mbps / 1 Mbps but that's $66.95/month, and I'm only here for a 4 month contract, so no point in wasting cash on that, hah..

But yeah I'm just venting, it's been a frustrating week...

Who's the ISP? It doesn't look like Rogers.

Cogeco.. they service just about everything outside the GTA. It's surprising I thought Rogers' service area was a lot bigger.
