Here is a thread I started back in March, with a poll, asking about the Deathadder and the G9. The Deathadder was ahead 3 to 2, on average, for about 3-4 months, but people must still search this thread out, because in the last couple months the G9 has caught up and actually passed the Deathadder by 1 vote. I got the Deathadder and like it, but I have never tried the G9 xince I can't find a store with it on display. I just went with the bigger mouse, since I read that the Deathadder is a good bit larger than the G9. I never really considered the G5; based on my research, I am guessing it is probably getting votes just because of its mainstream popularity, rather than based on a comparison of it to the G9 and Deathadder; but I could be wrong.

No MX revolution love here? I love that mouse. The scroll wheel is the best known to man bar none.

The MX isn't really a good gaming mouse.

OP - I have the G7 and thankfully is still running strong. I had a similar problem a while ago too. I ended-up uninstalling and reinstalling the latest drivers. No problems since. If I had to get a new one, it would be a G9.

Really? The G7 was okay but the MX blows it away. I even tried the G9 but found myself going back to the MX. The shape of the G9 is just too weird. (too wide)

Most wireless mice employ a battery saving feature that reduces the polling rate by half (~63Hz) and the MX Revolution itself peaks at around 90Hz. This is opposite of what you want for gaming. The G7 is the only wireless mouse that I know of that offers an increased polling rate of 500Hz (although half that of what most all wired mice are capable of, but 500 should be good for most) which is part of the reason it can chew through its battery so quickly as well as why it was designed to have a hot swap battery system.

Also, while the touting of DPI has been taken overboard a bit, the MX Revolution only offers one DPI setting of 800.

MX Revolution was made to be an ultimate office mouse, it was never intended to be used for gaming.

I LOVE MY G7!

Although, after 3 years of use, the batteries only last about 4 hours, down from like 20, but considering they charge faster than that it's really not a problem....

There are a few reasons I like the death adder over the logitech G5 mice (also I have both a death adder and a G5 hooked up to different comps):

#1 The rubberized grip on the death adder feels really silky smooth.
#2 The thumb buttons on the death adder are very easy to click.
#3 The mouse3 button (clicking down on the scroll wheel) is easier to use on the death adder. (I tend to accidentally scroll on the Logitech Mice)
Extra: Also just ascetically I liked the look of the death adder. (blue LED matches my logitech G11 keyboard)

The thing that really convinced me to get a death adder was the feel of the grip. Its really neat feeling. I also think i would hit the change DPI keys on the G9 while frantically shooting.
