I am wondering how you guys would pursue/follow up in my situation. I will give a list of events to help keep it all straight and simple.

Put in an application, waited 2 days and called HR to follow up.

They called back 1 day later and scheduled a phone interview for the following day.

Phone interview with Program Manager went well and he wanted me to come in for a face-to-face interview.

I initially declined the in-person interview because I am planning a wedding, working 50+ hours a week, and going to grad school and the interview required me to put on a 20min presentation and I didn't feel like I had time to do it well. I told them, program manager called me back and asked me to just come in for a tour, chat, and lunch with him and a few members of his team.

After that I decided that I really liked the company and it was worth shuffling around some things to make the interview work.

So two weeks after the face-to-face I had the interview, it went very well with all 6 people I spoke with. The day after the interview I emailed and thanked the program manager and his team for seeing me.

My interview was on a Tuesday and the program manager was out of town Thursday and Friday, so I didn't expect much action last week. But he did return my email Monday apologizing for the delay in responding and saying he was out of town.

I called a left a voice mail today with the program manager just asking the status and such. Should I follow up with an email today or tomorrow or just wait until Friday and give one more call and then assume they aren't interested?

They seemed very interested throughout the process. Taking me to lunch and all of that and the interviews felt to me like they went well. This is my first real job search process because my current job I got following an intership I had and they basically gave me my position following graduation.

That was my feeling. An older friend of mine who has sorta been my guide thru this didn't really think it was worth sending an email, but I find it easier to respond to emails than I do phone calls. I am trying to strike a balance between showing interest without being a nag or seeming to eager and hurting my ability to negotiate.

stay in the lobby until they make a decision. Whether it be days, weeks or months. Be prepared for the long haul by showing your commitment.

Alright, thanks.

But seriously, I am looking for useful input here. Maybe I should have known better.

I don't think I'd email or call again if you've already done it once this week. I always sent a follow-up email after an interview to thank them for their time and the opportunity.

Give them time to do their other interviews and don't pester them. One call or email is enough. If they want you, they will call you. Bothering them 2-3 times may turn them off.
