Hi guys,

I upgraded my mobo to the latest BIOS, and I can't seem to overclock as much I did before. I have mobile xp 2600+. Before, I could OC to 2400mhz (12x200) at 1.65 (rock solid), and 2500mhz (12.5x200) at 1.725. After the bios upgrade, 2400mhz at 1.65 Vcore seems unstable. It is okay, but if I restart the computer with the reset button, it hangs and I have to press "insert" as I start up to clear the bios and start over. It won't even post at 2500mhz at 12.5x200. Why is this happening? I am running it at 2400mhz right now, but I can't press the reset button on the case. I have to shut it off and then turn it on again.

1. Does something like this happen with other mobos?
2. Can I downgrade my bios back to its original? Seriously, the very first bios I think was the best for OC for this board.

Any input will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Douglas

I think thats pretty normal...
Alot of people have reported that their Abit NF7 clocks best with older BIOS versions
And yes you should be able to "downgrade" to your origianl BIOS.

Thanks WinWiz! I need to know definitely whether I can downgrade my bios. As you know, I don't want to mess around with the bios as any problems may cause the board to stop functioning. I would rather have a working "not-so-great" bios than a non-functioning board.Textdefinitely

okay, that's the last time I'm going to mess around with the font. I meant to underline the word "definitely." Sorry.

Can someone give me a definite answer? I've contacted Soltek, but I haven't heard from them. I googled for the information, but the sites are saying "downgrade" at your own risk. I don't want to take any chances. Thanks.
