After ~7 years of tailgating...

Yup. AND getting horribly injured as your car slides under the rear of the big truck you were tailgating.

If I don't feel like driving quickly, I get in the right lane. I NEVER hold up traffic on purpose in the fast lane.

But if I'm in the slow lane and you have room to pass me, but insist on riding my bumper, I'll just let off the gas and slow to 5mph or so.

Glad you got a ticket. Hope the judge gives you another fine for stupidity.

I have been know to stand on the brake if some body gets too close to the rear end of my car...I have a reinforced tow pack that can cope with 5 tons towing capicity....pity my car is flat out towing 2 tons, but the tow pack kills grills and radiators like a champ

I bet tailgaiting would be drastically reduced if morons would read their driver's manual and not cruise in the fast lane.

no, people have to care about others for that to work, and they dont, as evidenced by the attention who----err, OP.

Just to clarify a bit (not that I don't love the flames), but I only tailgate people in the left lane when the right lane is open and they are driving the speed limit or less.

If someone tailgates, I simply let off the gas completely until the moron gets the message.

i sometimes give my breaks a good tap or two.

Well you really taught that "slow driver" a lesson. I bet he'll think twice before holding you up again.

Just think, you've got a lifelong quest to teach people like that a lesson. You'll have the tickets to show for your endeavors too.

Sleep well, you're providing a public service. One car at a time. Hopefully you'll move a number of times during your life to spread the knowledge around. No sense concentrating in one geographic area. There are slow drivers everywhere.

Wait, I don't understand what tailgating is: the person in front of you was going to slow, so you were inches away from their bumper?

don't have to be going slow for someone to tailgate you. one time i was going 75-80 in a 65 mph highway in the left lane. there were several cars in front of me and beside me in the right lane but this jackass in a pickup truck was tailgating me. I can't go faster than the traffic in front me, fvcktard.

some people are just assholes
