Well after going through 4 PSPs and over 17 dead pixels...

...I gave up and just got my money back... the worst of the ones I had the pleasure of using had 7 dead pixels that I saw. Guy next next to me who was returning his had 12 dead pixels LOL.

Such a shame too...looked very nice overall design and cosmetic look was pretty cool but no way Im shelling out 250+tax for anything new with dead pixels on it...

hope you other buyers have better luck.

got mine from Target. They were sold out pretty quick but they've already had a lot of people coming back for exchanges and refunds.

Mine has no dead pixels, just one pixel that has a problem because there is some dust inside there. My friend is playing it now, been playing ridge racers none stop since yesterday.

thats the other thing..dust inside the unit.
isn't it laughable..i mean these things are supposed to be built in ISO9006 blah-blah conditions and its got dust and crap underneath. Way to go, quality control.

I just picked up my PSP from gamestop and there are about 2-3 dead pixels. I wouldn't be that pissed but one of them is RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SCREEN. Wow...talk about totally losing all interest in the PSP in a matter of seconds. After I saw that, I just turned off my PSP and put it back in the box, without even trying any of the games or movies. Gamestop informed me about purchasing a $30 extended warranty if I wanted to replace the PSP with a dead pixel free unit. Otherwise, they won't be exchanging it with another one. Is there anyway to circumvent this policy? What should I do?

DS is teh pwnzor teh shiznor out of teh PSP. Zor.

My little sister recently got a DS with Mario 64x4 and it's great. The graphics are nice and the touch screen is pretty accurate. I just dunno why they don't have a joystick instead of the D-pad (same with the PSP). Trying to control Mario in a 3D world with a D-pad doesn't work too well.

they wouldn't recall it unless it had safety defects

A joystick would get ripped off way too easy on a portable unit. That's my best guess, at least.

It states in the manual that dead pixel is considered normal.
