After 12 weeks it's finally here!!

My wife and I decided to give our master bath a face lift this fall. Little did we know at the time just how long it would take to get the vanity sink top in. The guy at the place we ordered from said most orders take 6-8 week. Yeah right.....Anyway after a 12 week wait I picked it up yesterday and mocked it up for some pics to share. We hope to have it installed this weekend.

For those wondering the vanity is a James Martin Metropolitan 72"W x 23.5"D American walnut vanity cabinet, the hardware is Symmons Duro 8 in. Widespread 2-Handle bathroom faucet, and the sink is a custom Carstin Carrara brown marble top.

very pretty. But instead of mirrors, you'll be looking outside I guess. Isn't that going to feel a little weird? Having a mirror behind the faucets is almost a fundamental law of the universe. You risk tearing a hole in space-time.

Thank you! We like it to but yeah this is just a mock up because after 12 weeks were anxious to see how it fit and how the hardware would look. It will NOT be going in front of windows haha but in the master bathroom underneath a 60"x30" edge lit mirror. Here is a pic of the wall we tiled and also installed a couple of extra receptacle behind where the mirror will be. The 2x4 header under the tile has been removed and the vanity cabinet will mount directly onto the wall to give it a "floating" effect.

Personally I'm not crazy about the "blocky" look myself but those appear to be high quality fixtures and I love the wood color/tone!

Heck long as the wife likes it!

Love this floating tile wall / backsplash thing. Going to have to borrow that for inspiration.

This is just a pic I snagged off James Martins marketing video so it's not ours but it gives an idea of what a "floating" vanity looks like. Of course I will post some pics of ours after it gets done this weekend!

Cool. Really like how the handles reflect the horizontal striations in the wood. Didn't notice that before. You might want to have a couple of diminutive spots go on when you switch off the mains.

But it is a nice vanity, and the tiling is nice too. It looks lovely. Good taste OP.

My relatives are redoing their kitchen into this very cool custom thing where most of the kitchen is a big island. One or more of the appliances is custom. They showed us the architect's plans last like October and everything had already been ordered prior to that.

They may get them, if all goes well, this summer. But probably later.

Well as promised here are some updated pics with the vanity on the wall and the marble top in place. It was a lot of work to get the vanity hung just right on the wall so we didn't get as far as we had hoped to over the weekend. Still a lot of little things left to do like reinstalling trim, hanging new towel bars, paint touchup, installing the sink drains, ect.

So with all that left to do please keep in mind these are mock up photos. I also managed to install some color changing spots over the bathtub as @Charmonium mentioned above.
Anyway onto the pics!



It's hard to take pics with the light on above the mirror so here is a close up of what it looks like.

Finally a pic just for Charmonium. RGB spot above the bathtub. Just the tub though so help give a little ambience on those cold nights when an Epsom salt soak feels just right.

Thanks! We think it turned out nice to. In all honesty this was more a bitch thread about supply constrains right now and shipping times not a bathroom remodel thread hence posting it in OT.

BTW aren't you getting ready to build a new house soon? Maybe you can get a little inspiration from this! Our style isn't for everyone but you can always put your own twist on it and make it your own!

Haha believe me I tried but my wife drew a "line in the sand" so to speak.

I know it goes against the AnandTech grain but I love RGB lighting not just in the PC space but around the home to. I LOVE lighting and really think it can add something special to a space inside or outside a home.

Heh, I am still selling my wife on the industry standard dual sinks. At least she is of the same opinion on the basin craze. No thanks to that
