AFT for WINXP

Whats your experience with use of Advanced Format Technology drives for WINXP.

Mainly, I use WINXP with my notebooks. For replacement drives including backup and imaging, am I better off avoiding these drives and just buying and using used older 512K sector ones versus the latest and greatest which is all one can assume they will get if they buy new?

I think the concern is that all my stuff (eg, old imaging software) wont work right. There is also the overhead of need to attempt realign after backup.

Neither newegg nor Fry's seems to know what Im talking about when I bring up what's in the box - AFT or non-AFT? I have no guarantee that if I order a WD320BEVT variant from newegg that it wont be a PVT version (eg, hard to imagine that the stock they have is still pre-2011 and NE is notorious for not updating the product info/photos on their site).

What's going on?
