Nifty. I kindda wondered what course would foster writing such a paper. Congrats on the marks!

haha, thanks.. The assignment was actually to write about your name and the history behind it but I kinda went off on a tangent.

A very valid one, though.

As I think you already know, those who intergrate fully are usually more successful. I believe this is at the root of our racial problems today. It isn't so much "race" as it is culture.

Yes, I find it funny how society just sets up new categories to separate us by. Whether it be religion, race, culture, height, or even musical preference...

Luckily, the "Musical Preference" thing ends just after school. I'm in my 30s and no one in my age group judges or is defined by the music they listen to. Nothing like high school.

Until people start calling themselves "Americans" instead of different sects of Americans because of their ethnic backgrounds, unity is impossible.

who cares what people are called.. until people are TREATED EQUALLY regardless of their ethnic backgrounds, unity is impossible.

TRUTH!!

Until the white middle class male is given the same respect and opportunities that every other group of people in this country is given there will always be hate and anger.

(Not a joke either.)
You neocons kill me. You accuse everyone else of being whiners and weaklings - but when your kind is faced with a few isolated minor instances of discrimination, you cry like little girls.

Pretending that you belong to an oppressed group is an embarassment to yourself and an insult to anyone who's ever had to overcome real discrimination.

Oh, I know.. But then you have groups based on profession, socio-economic status, hobbies (gun clubs)... I don't think clubs are bad in and of themselves but it's interesting how people like to split themselves into little groupings.

It's not that hard to understand. We happen to be one of them. Computer geeks coming together with a common interest. Ask yourself why you are here, and it's all explained for you. :)
